The Sad Lament of the Happy Day March Band

15_1_b.jpg

Doublecrossed by a crooked landowner named Rockafellow and a priest of the Esoteric Order of Dagon named Thackeray, The Happy Day March Band were robbed, beaten, killed, and left in the woods of Hogshead, New Jersey on Walpurgisnacht of the year 1919. But due to the brutal nature of their slaying and certain qualities of the ether that night, the band was brought back to life, fated to wander the earth seeking kindred souls and salvation through their songs. With an accordion, a shovel, and a little dastardly do-wronging, Thackeray's Victims (as they are now called) are out to sow the seeds of fear, doubt, lust, and joy in the hearts of all they encounter, and hopefully, find a way to that rest that is accorded all good people.

Thackeray's Victims are really two different bands. There is the smaller street performance version. This, led by twin charismatic frontmen, Messrs E.P. Talos, MD, and C.N. Bloodblister, often incorporates their various sideshow friends, and is easier to practice. They will soon be performing as their second iteration; a raucous pirate ensemble. Joined on the drums by Giovanni "Shoeshine" Criminalli, The Virtuoso Ritardando Alegretto on the Tuba, a mysterious dark-haired girl on whatever instrument she feels like playing on a given night, and occasionally, a gunslinger with a saxophone. Don't ask... don't ask...

A more comprehensive and lengthy historical account shall replace this in due time.
